As a global and remote team, our interview process is less traditional. We prefer to get creative and have fun, which means ditching resumes and cover letters. And it works! Over the years, we’ve received amazing applications and hired talented people from around the world.
Here’s what you can expect when applying to The Remote Company.
Complete the application. Feel free to express yourself!
Show your skills by completing a test assignment.
Tell us about you and ask questions via a video call.
Talk with your future team lead in a 1:1 video meeting.
We'll let you know if you got the job!
For all positions, we ask you to apply directly on the company website, even if you find the listing elsewhere. By completing the form, you get to use MyZenTeam—the hiring solution that is part of The Remote Company.
Show off your creativity, attention to detail, or any other skills needed for the position.
You’ll receive a notification once we’ve received your application.
We normally review applications within a week. Please send us a quick email if we take longer.
You’ll always get an update, whether you’re through to the next round or not.
If your application impresses us, we’ll let you know that you’ve made it through to the next round. The second phase includes completing an online task related to the role, though in some cases we’ll move directly to the interviews.
We don’t have a defined format for tasks. They’re uniquely created for each position.
Each task will have its own completion deadline.
The team leader(s) will check and evaluate your task.
If we like your work, you’ll be invited for a chat with our hiring team.
This interview is meant for both parties to get to know each other better. Prepare any questions you may have about our company values, remote culture, and the job itself.
Some interviews might be recorded. We’ll always ask for your consent beforehand.
We’ll confirm that you have all the technical skills needed for the job.
We’ll assess whether our company values are aligned with your personal values.
If we decide not to move forward with you, we’ll do our best to provide a brief explanation of what led us to this decision.
If our hiring team thinks you’d be a good fit for the role, you’ll have a second interview. You’ll talk to the team leader or manager to discuss your role, tasks, and skills in more detail.
If we decide not to move forward with you, we’ll do our best to provide a brief explanation of what led us to this decision.
If we’re a match for each other, we’ll happily make you an offer via email.
We value each application, yet it’s not always possible to give detailed feedback if you do not receive an offer. We will always make an effort to provide constructive feedback that you can use for future job applications.
If you’re the one, we’ll send you an offer.
If you’re not the one (this time), we’ll inform you and everyone else who is still in the running.
We close the position.
